Origins

Kydra was founded by Dingyao Wong and Jimmy Poh who had the idea of creating the “perfect pair of shorts for every city athlete" inspired by their own experiences as athletes in Singapore's modern and urban society.[2] This led them to design Kydra’s first product, the “Kydra Flex Shorts”, in 2016. The "Kydra Flex Shorts" was a pair of men's gym shorts that could also double up as casual shorts.[3]

In order to fund the project, they started a funding campaign on the platform Indiegogo, where they managed to raise USD$10,820.[4] As part of the campaign, they published a video reel featuring the shorts performing in various activities and its design details.[5] From the launch of the Kydra Flex Shorts in December 2016 to April 2017, they managed to sell out all 500 pairs of shorts from their first ever production.[6]
