Lauren Tan, the founder of Something to Hold, graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Business Administration. After working as a Marketing Executive at Coach for 1 year, she went on to serve as the Creative Director of fashion label Our Second Nature for 3 years. She later became the co-founder of Soft Spot and before establishing Something to Hold.[1]

Origins

The brand was created with the vision to celebrate the romance of everyday life through old fashion, as well as having a timeless sensibility. They hold a strong emphasis on sustainability while also having quality craftsmanship, using fabrics from certified sustainable sources.[2] Their aim is to foster a connection between them and their customers by designing pieces that are meant to be everyday favorites that can last a long time. Their philosophy is providing their customers with “something to hold, daily and forever.”[2]

Brand growth

Something To Hold opened their first physical store as a pop-up at Cluny Court in Bukit Timah back in 2023.[3] This location served as a gateway for them to get into physical retailing, as they soon had 2 other pop-ups at Duxton Road in 2024[4] and Clarke Quay in 2025.[5] Their main studio and office is located at 53 Genting Lane, and their hours are strictly through booking or invitation only.[2]
