Mohammed Fauzi Bin Abdul Aziz (born 14 April 1989) is a Singaporean host and online personality. He gained a following through his work with TheSmartLocal (TSL) and most notably, hosted two seasons of the YouTube series, Word On The Street.[1][2] As of July 2020, Fauzi has over 26,000 followers on Instagram.

Background

As of January 2020, Fauzi helms TSL’s marketing department[3] which consists of the company’s events, social media, talent and telegram marketing teams.[4] In 2019, he performed in two musical theatre productions[5] titled Showstoppers[6] and The Audition.[7]

Fauzi Aziz went on to St. Joseph’s Institution after which he enrolled in Serangoon Junior College where he was a part of the school’s student council.[9] In 2010, he joined the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and graduated with an honours degree in theatre studies in 2014.[10][11] During his time in university, Fauzi was a member of NUS Radio Pulze and participated in NUS Arts Festival in 2013 and 2014.[12] He also became friends with the host and actress, Munah Bagharib during his time at NUS.[13][14]

TheSmartLocal Media Group

After graduating from university in 2014, Fauzi applied for an editorial internship with TheSmartLocal (TSL) and joined the company as a writer.[15][16] Following his internship, Fauzi was offered a full-time position in the company. He was TSL’s Managing Producer from 2014 to 2017 and the Events Director from 2017 to 2019.[17] Fauzi is the company's marketing lead as of 2020.

TheSmartLocal TV - Host & Personality (2015 - Present)

Fauzi interviewed Minister Ong Ye Kung on The Quarantine - a TSL and Mediacorp collaboration.

Fauzi has been a talent under TheSmartLocal (TSL) since 2015.[18] As an online personality, he has made guest appearances in Singaporeans Try[19] and TSL Plays.[20] From 2016 to 2019, Fauzi produced and fronted the TSL TV YouTube series, Word On The Street where he conducted interviews with passers-by about pertinent local issues.[21][22] Fauzi also has experience hosting live broadcasts and events for brands such as SilkAir and Sony Mobile.[23]
