General Elections 2020 - Candidate (Sengkang GRC)

Chua Kheng Wee was introduced as a Workers’ Party (WP) candidate on 25 June 2020.[15][16] According to his profile on the Workers’ Party website, his hopes for Singapore are as such:[17]

1. Every Singaporean is empowered to achieve his or her maximum potential regardless of background, with a strong social safety net for the less privileged.
2. That we have a culture of open-mindedness, where the government of the day and civil service recognise the value of alternative viewpoints to achieve the best outcomes for Singapore.
3. A balanced parliament to enhance accountability and transparency in government decision making.

In a video posted on his Instagram on 26 June 2020, Chua Kheng Wee shared the reason why he joined the WP. He says:

“It is because I care deeply for the future of Singapore that my baby boy will grow up in.”[18]

The Workers' Party team won Sengkang GRC with 52.13 per cent of the votes.[19]
