Background

King of Fried Rice was started by 25 year-old ex-Jumbo Seafood chef Lester Li.[1] In an interview, he said that hoped to “be the king of fried rice by giving consumers restaurant-style fried rice at affordable prices”. He cited that he and his friends’ love for fried rice was what inspired him to open a fried rice outlet,[2] and that he chose the name ‘King of Fried Rice’ because he believed that he had one of the best fried rice dishes in Singapore.[3]

The first King of Fried Rice outlet was first launched at Golden Mile Tower in 2018. Since then, the chain has expanded to over 20 locations in Singapore, with stalls in areas such as Yishun, Bukit Batok, Holland Village and Sengkang.
