Fang Rong is also the brand ambassador for Poh Heng Jewellery.[3]

Background

Apart from her professional career in acting, Fang Rong was also a dancer during her younger years in school. She can also sing and play the guitar.[4] Fang Rong has posted her song covers on the music distribution platform, SoundCloud. She has also sung in a band called Motherfuñkers.[5][6]

Early life

Fang Rong began modelling and filming commercials when she was only four years old.[7] She entered the acting industry when she was seven and became a student at Singapore Media Academy, a media training institute owned by Mediacorp. At the Singapore Media Academy, she honed her acting skills and command of Mandarin.[8][9]

Education

Fang Rong was a student at Rosyth School and Methodist Girls’ School.[10][11] After secondary school, she enrolled in Saint Andrew’s Junior College but withdrew after her first year.[12][13] At the time, she was juggling her studies and dance team commitments while also filming the Mediacorp Channel 8 series, 小子当家 (I’m In Charge) (2013).[14] These multiple commitments contributed to her decision to stop her pre-university studies. In 2014, Fang Rong furthered her studies at Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) under the University at Buffalo programme. She graduated with a degree in psychology in 2018.[15]

Acting

According to a 2018 report by Youth.sg, Fang Rong has starred in over thirty dramas and movies since entering show business.[16] In an interview with Singapore Media Academy in December 2017, Fang Rong was asked why she decided to pursue acting. She says:

“I found passion in acting when I was having so much fun with it.”[17]

After graduating from university, she signed with Mediacorp as a full-time artiste in 2018.[18]
