Calista Cuaca was born in December 1998 to Jamie Chua and the business tycoon, Nurdian Cuaca who have since separated.[2] Calista also has an older brother named Cleveland.[3] Calista and Jamie occasionally make YouTube videos together that showcase their close mother-daughter relationship.[4][5][6][7] When Calista was nine years old, Jamie bought a heart-shaped solitaire pendant and matching ring amounting to $300,000 for her daughter’s future wedding.[8] In 2019, the mother-daughter pair wore matching dresses for a photo shoot along Orchard Road to commemorate Calista’s 21st birthday.[9] In an interview with Vestiaire Collective, Calista shared that:
"My mother and I have very different tastes when it comes to fashion. When I was a kid my mom would always make me wear these frilly dresses which I absolutely disliked. I explored fashion on my own over the years as well as through my circle of friends, and developed my androgynous style of dressing that I am most comfortable with."[10]
Education
Calista Cuaca was a student at ISS International School where she graduated with an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in 2016.[11] She then furthered her studies at James Cook University where she studied marketing.[12] Calista has also taken a one-month fashion styling course at Istituto Marangoni in London.[1]
