Mohd Fahmi Aliman (born 1972) was the former deputy chief executive of the Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Islamic Religious Council of Singapore) (Muis).[1] In June 2020, he was announced as a People's Action Party (PAP) candidate in the 2020 General Elections.[2]
Background
Fahmi Aliman was appointed the deputy chief executive of Muis in 2019 before stepping down in March 2020.[3] A month later, he started work with the National Trades Union Congress' (NTUC) Administration and Research Unit.[4] Before joining Muis, he worked at the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for 26 years.[5]
Early life & family
Fahmi Aliman was born in 1972 to a father who worked as a gas checker and a mother who was a cleaner.[6]
Education
Fahmi Aliman was a student at Jubilee Primary School and Jurong Secondary School. He then obtained a diploma from Ngee Ann Polytechnic before furthering his studies at the University of Liverpool where he graduated with a degree in engineering.[7]
