Louis Chua Kheng Wee (Singapore Politician)
Louis Chua Kheng Wee (born 1987), also known as Chua Kheng Wee, is the vice president and equity research analyst at the global investment company, Credit Suisse AG.[1] In June 2020, he was announced as a Workers’ Party (WP) candidate for the 2020 General Elections.[2]

Background
Since graduating from university, Chua Kheng Wee has been working at Credit Suisse first as an equity research associate and then an analyst.[3][4] His research focus is on the Singapore equity markets, particularly in the real estate and transportation sectors.[5] In 2018, he published a report titled “Opening the HDB Pandora’s Box”, which highlighted issues relating to the 99-year HDB lease.[6]
Early life & family
Chua Kheng Wee was born and raised in Singapore. He grew up in Singapore’s Ang Mo Kio estate.[7] He has been married since 2017 and welcomed the birth of his son in September 2019.[8][9]
Education
Chua Kheng Wee attended Townsville Primary School and Anderson Secondary School.[10] After which, he enrolled in Hwa Chong Institution. He furthered his studies at Singapore Management University (SMU) and graduated with a double degree in accountancy and business, both with the highest distinction in 2012.[11]
Workers' Party - Grassroots involvement
Chua Kheng Wee has experience doing grassroots work and also parliamentary support work.[12][13] He played an important role in preparing the Workers’ Party Working Paper on HDB resale prices, “Counting Down to Zero: Are There Alternatives to SERS?” which was published in 2019.[14]
Politics
General Elections 2020 - Candidate (Sengkang GRC)
Chua Kheng Wee was introduced as a Workers’ Party (WP) candidate on 25 June 2020.[15][16] According to his profile on the Workers’ Party website, his hopes for Singapore are as such:[17]
1. Every Singaporean is empowered to achieve his or her maximum potential regardless of background, with a strong social safety net for the less privileged.
2. That we have a culture of open-mindedness, where the government of the day and civil service recognise the value of alternative viewpoints to achieve the best outcomes for Singapore.
3. A balanced parliament to enhance accountability and transparency in government decision making.
In a video posted on his Instagram on 26 June 2020, Chua Kheng Wee shared the reason why he joined the WP. He says:
“It is because I care deeply for the future of Singapore that my baby boy will grow up in.”[18]
