Chu Toh Chieh is a Singaporean investment professional and currently serves as the Head of Fixed Income & Multi-Asset Solutions at Lion Global Investors, one of Singapore’s leading asset management firms. Chu obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the National University of Singapore. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), accredited by the CFA Institute, reflecting his expertise in investment management and financial analysis.[1][3]
Career
Early Career
Chu began his career in investment management with State Street Global Advisors, focusing on Asian and emerging market debt portfolios.[2] He then moved to UOB Asset Management, where he served as a Fund Manager, specializing in fixed income markets and contributing to the growth of several Singapore-focused bond funds.[2]
Lion Global Investors
In 2005, Chu joined Lion Global Investors as a Senior Portfolio Manager, and he was later promoted to Head of Fixed Income & Multi-Asset Solutions. In this role, he oversees the firm’s fixed income and multi-asset strategies, directing investment decisions across multiple portfolios, including government and corporate bonds, convertible securities, and high-yield debt.[1]
He played a pivotal role in the development and management of the LionGlobal Short Duration Bond Fund, Singapore’s first active bond ETF listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX). This fund provides investors with access to actively managed bond investments while leveraging the transparency and liquidity of an exchange-traded vehicle.[3]
Chu is also an active thought leader in the finance community. He frequently contributes insights on the impact of U.S. interest rate changes, global macroeconomic conditions, and emerging market debt trends on Asian fixed income markets.[4]
