Annika Xue Sager (born 15 May 2000) is a Singaporean-German model, fitness instructor, and beauty pageant titleholder, best known for winning Miss Universe Singapore 2025. She will represent Singapore at the 74th Miss Universe competition in Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2025.

Early life and education

Annika was born to a Singaporean Chinese and German family. She spent her early years in Singapore before moving abroad for education. She attended the Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama in Japan (2006–2010) and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration and Management from Hotelschool The Hague, graduating cum laude in 2024. She completed a Master’s degree in Luxury and Fashion Marketing at TBS Education in Barcelona, Spain in 2025. Annika is fluent in German and English.

Personal philosophy

Annika views her platform as a tool to inspire and empower others, particularly young women, and to promote sustainable living and education. She sees herself as embodying Singapore’s evolving identity—resilient, determined, and future-focused.

Advocacy and sustainable fashion

Annika is a strong advocate for sustainable fashion, promoting eco-friendly designers and materials. She integrates sustainability into her pageant wardrobe and encourages young Singaporeans to adopt environmentally conscious fashion practices. Annika also supports youth empowerment and mental health awareness, organizing workshops and community events to promote confidence, education, and wellness.

Career

Annika began her professional journey as a fitness instructor and model, participating in competitions such as the Global Asian Model pageant, where she was a Top 10 finalist in Manila, Philippines. She also undertook internships at Love, Bonito and Marina Bay Sands, and held roles including spin instructor at Active Fitness SG and assistant director of sales and marketing at TEDxHotelschoolTheHague. She gained international experience as a housekeeping supervisor trainee at Soho House & Co in Berlin and as a global marketing intern for TRESemmé at Unilever in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Miss Universe Singapore 2025

In preparation for the 74th Miss Universe competition, Annika has engaged in intensive training covering public speaking, runway presentation, fitness conditioning, and media engagement. She collaborates with former titleholders and international pageant coaches to refine her presentation and interview skills.

Her focus is to represent Singaporean diversity and resilience on the international stage, emphasizing her multicultural background and experiences studying abroad while maintaining strong ties to Singapore.

On 5 October 2025, Annika was crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2025 at Amber Lounge, The Fullerton Bay Hotel. She became the first to wear the Lumina Orchid Crown, crafted by NJS Gold to commemorate Singapore’s 60th year of independence. Annika also received the subsidiary titles Miss Body Beautiful and Miss Fan Favourite, while Miss Congeniality was awarded to Tiffany Tay.

1. Yip Pin Xiu Scholarship (2017) – Awarded to Annika to support her undergraduate studies in accountancy at Singapore Management University.
2. Global Asian Model Singapore (2019) – Named at the national edition of the Global Asian Model pageant.
3. Top 10 finalist – Global Asian Model competition in Manila, Philippines.
