Mohd Fahmi Bin Aliman (born 1972) is a Singaporean politician and the former deputy chief executive of the Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Islamic Religious Council of Singapore) (Muis).[1] In June 2020, he was announced as a People's Action Party (PAP) candidate in the 2020 General Elections.[2] As of 10 July 2020, he is an elected Member of Parliament (MP).
Background
Before joining Muis, Fahmi Aliman worked at the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for 26 years.[3] In 2018, he took over as the Director of the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Coordination Centre (RHCC).[4] He was appointed the deputy chief executive of Muis in 2019 before stepping down in March 2020.[5] A month later, he started work with the National Trades Union Congress' (NTUC) Administration and Research Unit.[6]
Early life & family
Fahmi Aliman was born in 1972 to a father who worked as a gas checker and a mother who was a cleaner.[7] As of 2020, he is married with four children.[8]
Education
Fahmi Aliman was a student at Jubilee Primary School and Jurong Secondary School. He then obtained a diploma from Ngee Ann Polytechnic before furthering his studies at the University of Liverpool where he graduated with a degree in engineering.[9]
Community outreach
Fahmi Aliman is the chairperson of M3@Bedok, a community outreach programme aimed to help Malay-Muslim residents in the division.[10]

Fahmi Aliman was announced as a People's Action Party candidate on 24 June 2020.[11] On the PAP website, he is quoted to have said:[12]
"All of us is leader within our own sphere. Continue to lead by example and walk the talk. Most importantly, stay true to your intent and purpose when making a difference to others."
The PAP team won Marine Parade GRC with 57.76 per cent of the votes.[13]
