Background
Early life & family
Joie was raised as a Hindu and as a child, she had witnessed her father writing devotional songs for the temple. Her early exposure to music vis-a-vis her father prompted her to create her own.[1] It was through her YouTube channel that she started to grow as a singer. Joie's oldest song cover on YouTube dates back to when she was about 15 years old.[2] Her 2012 cover of Fly Me To The Moon has over 350,000 views as of April 2020.[3]
Education
Joie enrolled in LASALLE College of Arts in 2012. She graduated with a Bachelors in Music (Hons) in 2017.[4] Both her parents supported her decision to enrol into an art school, being musicians themselves.[5]
