Miss Singapore Pageant International (2017) - Winner
In 2017, June signed up as a candidate for Miss Singapore International, an annual pageant organised by the Singapore Women’s Association.[13][14] She was crowned “Miss Singapore International 2017" on 12 July 2017 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel.[15] Seah Kian Peng, the Chief Executive Officer of NTUC Fairprice and NTUC Enterprise,[16] was the Guest-of-Honour at the event.[17] As the new pageant winner, June was scheduled to represent Singapore at the Miss International pageant in Tokyo, Japan.[18] However, her legacy was cut short by unforeseen circumstances that led to her resignation.
Newsworthy incidents
Private video leak (2017)
In 2017, an anonymous source released compromising videos of June and her boyfriend, Lloyd.[19] The couple had filmed the videos four years before the leak. Shortly after the incident, June relinquished her Miss Singapore International crown to first runner-up Kylie Yeo.[20] In January 2020, June shared on LADIES FIRST about how her career, health and academics had suffered due to the overwhelming public criticism at the time. She also defended her boyfriend from the accusations that he had leaked their intimate videos.[21]
