Media Controversy
TikTok body shaming saga (2022)
A TikTok video posted by Chrysan on 22 February 2022 received an onslaught of negative comments about the size of her chest, with some comments comparing her chest to “airport runways”.[11] In this video she was showing off a top she had purchased from online brand SHEIN.[11]
She took to Instagram to address these comments, as well as to encourage and reassure other women who had gone through the same experience.[12] Her response to the incident was also documented in her caption which said,”
“...What I wear, how I look and what I put out there - does not excuse their gross behavior in damaging comments & making themselves feel better at my or someone else’s expense. …”[12]
She has since received several comments of support on her Instagram post.
Chrysan has shared screenshots of the accounts who had left the negative comments via an Instagram Highlight.[13]
