Students who scored a minimum D7 grade for Higher Mother Tongue will be automatically accredited 1 Academic Unit for Mother Tongue without having to take the subject. Students may also take H2 KI in replacement of GP.

HCI offers the HSP to students who have a deep interest in studying humanities at the pre-university level. Students must study the following upon successful application.

*H2 Literature in English

The HSP is also offered at [[JC cut-off points & subject requirements (Anglo-Chinese Junior College)|Anglo-Chinese JC]], Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Eunoia JC, [[JC cut-off points & subject requirements (Raffles Institution)|Raffles Institution]], [[JC cut-off points & subject requirements (National Junior College)|National JC]], Temasek JC, Victoria JC.

===Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP)===
HCI offers the BSP to students who have a deep interest in contemporary Chinese society, biculturalism and China’s relations to the West. Students must study and complete the following upon successful application.

*H2 China Studies
*4 hours curriculum per week
*Immersion programme to China (3 weeks - 1 month) during the holiday period

The BSP is also offered at Dunman High School, Eunoia JC, and [[JC cut-off points & subject requirements (River Valley High)|River Valley High School]].
