In Singapore, she stayed with a caretaker until she was 18 years old before deciding to live independently.[2] Yoyo graduated from a private university in Singapore[3] with a Business degree.[4]

In a 2017 interview with 8Days, Yoyo revealed that she had been offered an acting gig "a few years ago" by Huayi Brothers, a well-reputed entertainment company based in China.[5] She had declined the offer at the time due to her lack of interest in being an actress.

Personal life

Family

Yoyo has a son together with her partner Matthews Chang[6] who is the joint founder and Chief Operations Officer of TOKIGAMES.[7] In December 2017, she announced her pregnancy on Instagram.[8] The following year in March, she posted a picture of her new-born child, introducing him to her friends and followers as Luca.[9]

Friendship with Jessica Jung

Yoyo is also good friends with Korean celebrity Jessica Jung who was a member of the k-pop group, Girls Generation. During the Dolce & Gabbana show at the 2018 Milan Fashion Week, Yoyo showed her support for Jessica through an Instagram story of her catwalk with the caption "Omgggg what a surprise!!!! So good to see your friend on the runway!!! @jessica.syj".[10]
